The adorable chameleon and bat duo are heading to the Nintendo Switch sooner than you think.

Developer Playtonic Games announced on Tuesday that its well-loved platformer Yooka-Laylee will launch on the Switch on December 14, a little over two weeks from now (at the time of writing).

“The Playtonic team has spent many, many months optimizing Yooka-Laylee for Nintendo Switch (with technical help and support from Nintendo and Unity themselves!) and we believe we’re delivering a version Nintendo fans can be proud of,” Playtonic said in the announcement post on its website.

Such optimizations include the ability to experience single-JoyCon across eight multiplayer mini-games within the title, a customized achievement system that encourages players to climb the rungs, and, of course, the chance for players to take Yooka and Laylee anywhere they want, anytime they feel an urge to play. The team has also added a new camera mode, additional menu options, updated music, the power to choose to skim through dialogue, improvements to control mechanics, and much more.

Yooka-Laylee will be available to pre-order in the Nintendo eShop starting on December 7, so anyone eager to get their hands on the title as soon as possible will get a chance to do so.
