Deadline reports that CBS is closing in on a two-year renewal deal of its long-running hit The Big Bang Theory. If this deal happens, it would see original cast members Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar finalising their own new two-year contracts. This would bring the blockbuster nerdy comedy to 12 seasons.

Reports also suggest that all five of the original cast will now receive equal pay, somewhere around $1 million per episode — a salary Galecki, Cuoco and Parsons were already getting. Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch are also believed to be in the process of signing new deals with Warner Bros.

Another negotiation is being sorted out for a prequel series focusing on Sheldon. Parsons has stated he is on board with the project and would act as an executive producer along with The Big Bang Theory showrunner Steven Molaro, who is writing the script.

What do you guys think of the possible renewal? Are you Big Bang fans?
