Red most definitely suits Rey.

Disney and IMAX have released a stunning new IMAX poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi a month out from its official launch. The promotional still, which features the main cast of the new trilogy plus a franchise newcomer tucked to the side, swathes our hero Rey (Daisy Ridley) in a rich scarlet cape and streaks the same color down the background where the rest of the crew is positioned.

One could easily write off Rey’s threads as an innovative fashion choice–and a far cry from her earth-toned duds seen in The Force Awakens–but the fact that she’s wearing one of Darth Vader’s favorite colors and the trademark hue of the Sith is far too coincidental, especially considering the debate surrounding Rey’s position on the Force spectrum. Both trailers for The Last Jedi have teased that Rey will experience some inner turmoil and plenty of temptation (which she could ultimately buckle to) about joining the Dark Side. Could this detail in the IMAX poster mean something much more? It certainly seems likely, though we wouldn’t read too much into it.

Elsewhere, we see Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) gazing into the distance and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) peering over his shoulder as if he’s readying himself for battle. Of course, there’s also General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), and fresh face Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), as well as Chewbacca, BB-8, C-3PO, and R2-D2.
