— The Squad got together to do another fan casting! We picked who we’d like to see play Poison Ivy in the upcoming Gotham City Sirens film. Check out our picks and see if you agree! If not, who would you cast?

Since Jessica Chastain recently said in an interview that she'd throw her hat in the ring to play #PoisonIvy in #GothamCitySirens, the squad weighed in with their picks! @justiney: @hollandroden – I love her in Teen Wolf and think she'd bring something different to Poison Ivy. @shonaadventures: @karengillanofficial from Doctor Who – I think she has it in her to put a major badass spin on the role. @colourmoichic: @aw – Allison Williams please! She did a fantastic job in Get Out and could definitely do confident, sexy and dangerously charming. @mickeyunlikethemouse: @thekatharineisabelleproject – Katharine Isabelle – she can play a crazy, sexy, kickass, psycho better than anyone else on the planet. @westy_1992: #RuthWilson – Ruth Wilson plays a manipulative, sexy, anti hero in Luther. Add plants and she could make a great Poison Ivy. @spookyzill: @theladydockers – Michelle Dockery can play the sultry and ferocious bombshells to perfection. @neekwoman: @therealalyssas – Alyssa Sutherland played the mysterious and tantalizing Aslaug and shook up the dynamic of 'Vikings'. Plus, she almost looks exactly like the comic version of Poison Ivy. @ceiandraste: @evanrachelwood – Evan Rachel Wood is smart, sexy, self possessed and she has the acting chops to pull of this iconic character. Her sultry nature is a perfect fit for Ivy. @aj.caulfield: @katemara – Kate Mara was incredible as Zoe in House of Cards: ambitious, unwavering, and super alluring. That would translate perfectly to Ivy! @ryanfarroki: #EmmaStone – I'd really like to see Emma Stone take a stab at it. I personally haven't seen her in that type of role, but she's such a good actress with such good range that I feel she could pull it off very well. Do you agree with our picks? Who would you choose?

I just really love their banter. @shonaadventures: The #Weasley kids from #HarryPotter, especially Fred and George. Seems like such a fun family to be a part of, and the twins always crack me up. @colourmoichic: #Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes! Their wit, sass and sarcasm are pretty darn amazing! @_zhiana: Sam & Dean Winchester are not only kick ass, but they're hilarious too. The #SPN outtakes crack me up! @kazleberry: #TheChroniclesofNarnia books were my favorites for a while and the Pevensies have that family forgiveness and protectiveness thing down. @ceiandraste: The MacManus brothers. They are loyal, brave and a little unhinged. @aj.caulfield: #DonDraper and #PeggyOlson. Badass duo, and the only people not intimidated by each other. @ryanfarroki: This is an easy one. The force is the strongest with the #Skywalker #Organa siblings. Now, it's your turn! Who's your favorite geeky sibling duo/group?

— It looks like the Deadpool sequel has found their Cable in Josh Brolin! What do you think of the casting?

Squad Thoughts

  • Can’t WAIT to see Ryan Reynolds bounce off the usually super serious Brolin! -Maude
  • Love Brolin as cable. He’s gruff and looks the part and we know he has the acting chops. -Brad
  • Not that familiar with the comics, but the duo of Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin sounds like a recipe for success and I can’t wait to see how it pans out! -Zhiana
  • There’s gotta be Thanos jokes, right? -Julia
  • Well done. Good casting. -Ryan
  • I’m okay with it. -Justine
  • Seems like a great choice. Little odd since he is also Thanos. Bummed Ron Perlman didn’t snag the part but looking forward to seeing steely Brolin go toe-to-toe with goofball Ryan Reynolds. -Ceilidh
  • Fantastic choice for Cable. Totally killer as Thanos in GotG. It’ll be great to see him look a little more human in Deadpool 2. -AJ

— There could be a second season of the Gilmore Girls revival.

— Did you catch our latest episode of Geekly Recap with Boss Bomb Maude Garrett and special guest Filup Molina?

— Jude Law is going to be our young Dumbledore for the Fantastic Beasts sequel! What do you geeks think?

Squad Thoughts:

  • Jude has broken some sort of Harry Potter Law in my heart… I didn’t see this coming and not sure how I feel. -Maude
  • Surprised, but I think that’s mainly because I’ve never really considered what a young Dumbledore would look like.. I just imagined him as always being old and grey. I’m a fan of Law’s, so I’m excited to see what he brings to the role! -Zhiana
  • Weird & interesting choice, but down to give him a chance. Always said if there was any law I’d defy, I’d be against Jude law. -Justine
  • 50/50. He’s been in good films, also meh films. -Julia
  • Smile of a scoundrel and his talent has only increased with age so all for this casting. I believe Law has the charm to pull off this part with complete ease. -Ceilidh
  • Kinda dig it. Not a knock on his acting abilities; I just think I’m having difficulty imagining what a young Dumbledore would look like, no matter who’s playing him. -AJ
  • Incredible actor. Can absolutely see him as a younger, more carefree Dumbledore. -Brad

  • Justine: The music always gets my heart racing. *grabby hands* I’m ready.
  • Brad: Not enough to really go on yet, but I like the poster. Luke seems pretty upset for a dude that lives in a beautiful waterfront cave.
  • Mickey: We’re gonna get answers. I’m gonna lose my mind.
  • Julia: *string of incoherent noises* So much is happening!! Can’t waaaaaaait!
  • Ceilidh: I’m excited about the movie, but this trailer did nothing to stoke the fires.
  • Ryan: That gorgeous poster actually pumped me up more than the trailer did. Super excited, nonetheless!

From Justine: “Where are all my theatre nerds at?! Where are all the Friends fans at?! Well, these two are coming together in musical matrimony to Broadway. The song titles highlight some of the best moments of the show. As a fan of both, I’d see this show in a heartbeat. Tickets go on sale in June, and the show will open sometime this fall. Who would go see it?”
